Due to Covid 19, there has been a lot of changes regarding Lola de Miguel´s future plan exhibits. The solo show which was planned for May-June 2020 in Greene Street, Soho, NEW YORK, got cancelled,  as well as the Group Show Merit scholarship Winner Exhibit 2020 initially planned for June at the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery, NEW YORK. Lola de Miguel has therefore decided to take a break from the City, from New York and has temporarily moved to the Alps. In April Lola de Miguel installed a new big studio walking distance from the beautiful mountains. Since then her days are dedicated to Nature, Creativity and Spirituality.

The fact that due to the virus she cannot longer work with recycling material from outside ( office buildings etc), has open new paths. She has come back to acrylic painting on canvas but in very big formats. She dreams to do an open air exhibit or be able to put her paintings in big halls, Industrial buildings, Schools, etc. Museums and galleries may be closed but art should be present. Art and color raises our spirits and specially in hard times like Covid 19 are a good antidote against pandemic blues.

I was seeing my daughter Carmen, interested and active in climate change matters and I felt it was my turn. I did most of the pieces with recycling material, it was hard collecting garbage it is not an easy tasks but it was fun to convert it to art. The show is full of color, of childlike free Spirit. I want the audience to feel conected with the flow they experienced as kids in nature. Mother Earth Love, is about how I feel we should love the Earth and how the Earth loves us. We are connected.

Art Exhibition by Lola de Miguel opens on December 12th at The YARD Bryant Park.
New York City, NY, Release: November 8th, 2019

36" x 48 " Mix Media. Done using piano and recycling material

A new solo exhibition by Lola de Miguel curated by Karina Grigoryeva opens December 12th at the emblematic 510 5th Avenue , NY 10036. The exhibition features aproximadamente 20 art pieces, including paintings, collages and sculptures that will be displayed until February 20, 2020.

MOTHER EARTH LOVE is the latest work of Lola de Miguel. With this collection  de Miguel wants to inspire feelings of wonder, awe, and love for our Mother Earth, in hopes that these feelings will call viewers into action. The subtle yet striking blend of her vivid and passionate palette, with new textures, and all kinds of recycled materials, challenge the visitor to look at the way Nature is constantly changing from a totally new perspective; emphasising on the emotional connection we all have with Nature.

Asked about the exhibition, De Miguel said …it is about my love for Nature and my desire to make people take action and engage. I want the visitor to connect with my art through a deep dive into their essence and deepest emotions of joy and love to Mother Earth hidden in their childhood memories. I want them to experience how life and death, walking together hand in hand, take them into an uncertain but also a promising future. Viewers can expect to be surprised by the exhibition’s visuals, which will include sculptures of dinosaurs.
Lola de Miguel is an explorer, a learner and a truly international spirit. She was born in a small town in Spain, but her personal growth path took her to live in 6 different countries  and drive multiple careers and experiences throughout her life. She is well-known to the NYC public as she performed three solo exhibitions; “Underwater Emotions”, “New York City Inspires”, and “The Jungle” in the past three years.

24" x 24" Mixed media using recycling material.
The Mother Earth Love exhibition will certainly raise a different kind of consciousness by bringing to life the artist’s love and profound emotional connection to Nature.

Close ups  of the Underwater Emotions Series

"As a creative and as a coach I know of the importance of color and positive energy vibration. Color connects us with early memories, with our inner child. Color allows us to express our deepest essence and move freely like kids in a playground"
